After Monday's record-setting sleet storm, the half inch of snow expected this morning in Evanston should be far less disruptive.
But then Monday's storm wasn't expected to be as big as it turned out to be either. Anyway, city officials say today's snow should be over by noon, except for a few afternoon flurries.
For the rest of this week — colder temperatures — but no more snow — in the forecast.
James Maiworm of the city's Public Works Agency says crews anti-iced main roads last night and will continue to clear roads, parking lots and sidewalks of the new snow this morning.
This afternoon, he says, crews will continue to patrol residential areas looking for opportunities to push up open parking areas.
