Evanston’s Lincoln Elementary School has been awarded a grant from the Illinois Arts Council to fund a drama residency through Lifeline Theatre.

This grant helps provide 6-week residency for  2nd and 3rd graders. This month, the children will go to Lifeline Theatre, see a production of “The Dirty cowboy”, and tour the theater to see how a show is produced.

A Lifeline artist will visit each class one day a week for six weeks and engage them in drama exercises and “bringing books to life.”   The exact book/genre will be selected by the classroom teachers in advance of the residency.
