Here’s a recap of our live coverage of this evening’s Evanston City Council Planning and Development Committee meeting.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 6:15 p.m.

A packet with information on tonight’s agenda items is available online.

Meeting called to order at 6:18 p.m. Ald. Melissa Wynne (3rd) chairs.

Minutes approved, with minor amendments.

P1 – CDBG-CV funding for childcare scholarships
Approved.

D1 – Subcommittee on Housing Related Issues
Ald. Bobby Burns (5th), Ald. Devon Reid (8th), Ald. Clare Kelly (1st) and Ald. Eleanor Revelle (7th) volunteer to serve on the committee.

Wynne suggests having the subcommittee work done by the end of the ADU moratorium. Revelle suggests end of January. Kelly suggests six months.

Johanna Nyden, community development director, says any changes would have to go back to the Plan Commission — which suggests the committee’s work needs to be completed within three months to be able to get the work completed by the scheduled end of the ADU moratorium.

Revelle suggests Kelly chair the subcommittee. Reid says he’d proposed to be chair himself.

Kelly says she’s been immersed in the topic, would like to be chair.

Wynne suggests that the committee members should convene and decide who to make chair.

Meeting adjourned at 6:35 p.m.

City Council is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
