P3 – Planned Development at 1012 Chicago Ave.
Site is now Autobarn Nissan property. Related stories. Would be a five-story, 116-unit development. Below grade parking, 58 spaces. Retails space and eight live-work units on the ground floor.
Rents: $1500 studios, $1900 one bedroom $2400 two bedroom .. for market rate units.
Assuming approval by end of this year, completion likely by the end of 2023.
Ald. Melissa Wynne (3rd) praises the “innovative design” of the building.
Vote to approve for introduction is 7-2.
P2 – Codifying the Land Use Commission
New entity would combine the Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals.
Johanna Nyden, community development director, says it will simplify the process.
New commission would start its work in January.
Initially will have 11 members, as some terms end, the size of the group would eventually be reduced to nine.
Approved for introduction 5-2. Kelly and Reid vote no.
P1 – Leaf blower policy update
Ald. Eleanor Revelle (7th) says expects to have good proposals for City Council in October. Subcommittee needs a couple more meetings to put the plans together, she says.
Motion to accept and place on file is approved unanimously.
