The shuttered Starbucks at 528 Dempster St. is expected to reopen soon as a locally-owned coffee shop called Evanston Pour.
Owner John Stumbaugh will ask Evanston’s Design and Project Review Committee Wednesday for approval of his plans for the site, which he says will be like a European “all day café” with coffee service, alcoholic beverages and sandwiches.
He plans to offer mimosas and bloody marys in the morning and bottled and canned beers as well as wine and canned cocktails in the afternoon and evening.
Food offerings will included bagels and pastries in the morning and grilled flatbreads in the afternoon and evening.
Stumbaugh plans to have Evanston Pour open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Starbucks operated in the space, just east of Chicago Avenue, for 24 years.
