Local foundation seeks grant applications

The Evanston Community Foundation is accepting applications for its 24th year of funding for project-based grants to nonprofit organizations serving the Evanston community.

The deadline for completed applications is Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 at 5:00 pm. All applications and support materials should be delivered to the Foundation office at 1007 Church Street, Suite 108.

The foundation is offering office hours this year during which staff will be available to meet with grant seekers who may have questions about applying for a grant from the foundation from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19, and from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 25. Groups should call in advance to reserve a time.

The Evanston Community Foundation was established in 1986 as a publicly supported philanthropic organization. The Foundation builds community endowments, addresses Evanston’s changing needs through innovative grant-making, and provides leadership in bringing people together around issues of community concern.

Through its grants programs, the Foundation has made more than $2.8M in grants to over 175 organizations serving Evanston residents.
