After nearly a century in operation, a local auto repair business is getting a new name.
Duxler Complete Auto Care has changed its name to HEART Certified Auto Care.
Owner Brian Moak says HEART is an acronym for Helping Everyone Achieve Reliable Transportation.
“Our name is the approach. We are passionate about serving our customers through empathy, efficiency and expertise,” Moak says. “We want to build off our traditions established during the past 93 years and move forward in the technical era to change how auto service is delivered.”
Moak says HEART is establishing a new system to create complete transparency in auto care. All issues are photographed to show customers exactly why repairs are recommended.
HEART has its original location on Green Bay Road in Evanston, which was founded in 1924, as well as locations in Northbrook and Wilmette.
Moak says there will be no changes in personnel, but the three existing locations will serve as test sites for launching a nationwide franchise organization in 2018.
93 Year “tradition”? I don’t think so.
“We want to build off our traditions established during the past 93 years”. Perhaps a little resume puffery? If there is a chain of business ownership going back 93 years at 2620 Green Bay Road, I’d like to know what the names are. It would be a good history lesson. As I recall, that Green Bay location, throught the years, has been used by a number of unrelated auto repair businesses. I don’t think there is a “tradition” other than that location being a traditionally desirable spot for automotive related businesses. Brake-O-Mat was there from many years until Duxler took over the location. Thank you.
No HEART
That’s interesting because when I went in there to receive service he didn’t seem to have a “heart” at all!
Name change..
Glenn, does this mean I don’t have to sweep driveway?
The Evanston location was a
The Evanston location was a Berry tire for many many years. The current guys aren’t anything close to the original duxler family. They were just using the name.
new name
I wonder if Glenn Moak appproved this wishy-washy/cutesy name? UGH
Same business
These are the same business owners….they changed the name because there probably were too many negative reviews they could not escape. Always get a second opinion when dealing with them.
