The new Lyfe Kitchen restaurant at 1603 Orrington Ave. in downtown Evanston plans to launch its take on healthy food that tastes good on May 20.

The chain has three restaurants open in California, opened its first Illinois location in Chicago’s River North neighborhood last fall and is planning several more in Texas, Colorado and Nevada.

L3 Hospitality Group, LLC plans to open ten Lyfe Kitchens across the Chicago metro area.

Carey Cooper, L3’s CEO says Lyfe has “a game-changing way of eating and living.”

“In a community where residents range from college students to young families, from academics to athletes, it’s important we offer options that deliver on a variety of wellness needs while being consistently delicious,” Cooper added in a news release.

Lyfe Kitchen offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, and each dish is made to order.  The menu features baked and grilled chicken, fish and beef dishes, along with gluten-free, vegetarian, omnivore and vegan options. The restaurant also works with local farmers and suppliers to provide the freshest, most local, organic and seasonal products possible.

“We are at a pivotal point in society where improving the way we eat will have great impact on ourselves, our communities and our planet,” said Lyfe Kitchen CEO Mike Roberts. “Lyfe Kitchen’s mission is to help people change the way they eat for the better by caring for our food system in a socially and environmentally responsible way.”

Every menu item contains fewer than 600 calories and 1,000 milligrams of sodium.
