Travel and Leisure magazine’s August issue names Evanston as one of the 10 “coolest suburbs” in America.

With an eye for places worth a visit by travelers, the magazine says we’re “a midwestern intellectual hub and a regional incubator for high-tech industries.”

It also mentions “four miles of wide, sandy public beach,” the Grosse Point Lighthouse as a tourist stop and the Stained Glass Bistro as a place for wine lovers to dine.

What other towns made the list? Montclair, N.J.; Lakewood, Ohio; Bellevue, Wash.; Roswell, Ga.; Alameda, Calif.; The Woodlands, Texas; West Hartford, Conn.;
Birmingham, Mich., and Ashland, Ore.

Thanks for the tip and spotting the magazine story to Gina Speckman of the Chicago North Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau.
