Nearly 50 local businesses will participate in the Main-Dempster Mile’s sixth annual Evanston Wine Walk from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 12.
Ticket purchasers will check in at designated locations during the event to receive a wristband, a map and a listing of wines being tasted in shops. Partcipating businesses will serve one ounce tastings to guests with wristbands. Many businesses will be conducting sales or special events in conjunction with their wine tasting.
New this year, for an extra $15, guests can purchase a ticket to a “Taste of the Mile” dinner party, being hosted by Autobarn Alfa Romeo Fiat and Life: Styled by Jackson.
The “Taste of the Mile” runs from 4 to 6:30 p.m. the night of the Wine Walk.
“The Main-Dempster Mile is home to over 30 independently owned restaurants and eateries, ranging from fast casual to fine dining,” says MDM Executive Director Katherine Gotsick. “This dinner party will feature small bites from several of those eateries. We think it will be a perfect compliment to an evening of wine tasting.”
Additionally, a raffle including prize packages worth $300 or more apiece is being conducted in conjunction with the Wine Walk, with all proceeds benefiting Rainbows for All Children. Packages include gift cards, gifts and experiences from favorite Main-Dempster Mile businesses such as Botanica CBD, Club Pilates, Few Spirits, D21 Fit Studio and more!
Raffle tickets can be purchased online or during the event at Autobarn.
Rainbows, located at 614 Dempster St., provides support for youth navigating grief and healing from loss, whether from death, divorce, deployment, or other trauma.
Established businesses like Oceanique, The Wine Goddess, Blind Faith Cafe, and Virag Jewelers will be joined in the Wine Walk by brand new businesses like Reprise Coffee Roasters, Elite Esthetic Center and Adamczyk Fine Homes.
“The Wine Walk is a great tool for these brand new businesses to announce they’re open,” Gotsick says, “and for people walk in and check them out.”
Tickets are $30-35 in advance online or $40-45 the day of the event at Vinic Wine, 1509 Chicago Ave.; Evanston Animal Hospital, 516 Dempster St.; La Principal, 700 Main St., and Firehouse Grill, 750 Chicago Ave.
