The National Weather Services says areas along the Lake Michigan shoreline — including Evanston — could get up to six inches of lake effect snow overnight.

That’s a lot more than what Edgar Cano of Evanston’s Public Works Agency says the city’s private forecasters are calling for. They say we’re more likely to get one to two inches.

The snow is expected to start around 11 p.m. Thursday and continue through noon on Friday.
