Downtown Evanston currently has a lot of vacant office space — but one major tenant has just signed a new long-term lease.

That’s Grumman/Butkus Associates, the anchor tenant in the renovated 820 Davis St. building.

Grumman/Butkus, an energy, engineering and resource consulting firm, has had its offices in the building for the past 20 years. It occupies about 30% of the nearly 86,000 square foot building.

Owner Free Market Ventures has recently completed a renovation of the building’s façade, lobby, common areas and amenities.

William Flatt of Free Market called the lease renewal by Grumman/Butkus “a great commitment to their employees and a testament to the upgrades we’ve made.”

Chad Luning, president of Grumman/Butkus, added, “Downtown Evanston’s amenities, access to transportation and vibrancy make 820 Davis a great place to work.”

A listing on Loopnet indicates the building still has just over 23,000 square feet of office space available for lease.
