Two boxes of comic books were among items missing after a burglary in the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue. This among stories in today’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.

BURGLARY

1400 Chicago

A burglar gained entry to an apartment in the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue between Feb. 1 and Feb. 26 and stole two boxes of comic books plus some clothing. The victim, a 62-year-old man, recalls leaving his keys in the door overnight recently and suspects that might explain how the burglar got in.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

1900 Darrow

Someone keyed a 2007 Pontiac in the 1900 block of Darrow Avenue between 6 p.m. Sunday and 1:38 p.m. yesterday.

THEFT

1600 Sherman

A cell phone was taken from a store in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue around 1:30 p.m. yesterday.

TRAFFIC

1225 Asbury

Darrell Patterson, 34, of 1407 Emerson St., was arrested at 1225 Asbury Ave. at 5:25 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on March 23 at 10:30 a.m.

1745 Sherman

George O. Njoku, 62, of 1025 W. Hollywood Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1745 Sherman Ave. at 1:53 a.m. yesterday and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute an assumption of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Court in Skokie.
