The Evanston Fire Department says a 31-year-old man was critically injured late Sunday afternoon on the back side of the hill at James Park when the sled he was riding hit a tree.

A child riding with the man was thrown from the sled in the accident. The child’s injuries are reported to not be life-threatening.

Fire Department paramedics transported the man to St. Francis Hospital where he’s reported in stable condition with cervical and cranial fractures and a concussion.

  1. at fault?
So…just to clarify….weren’t there accidents in prior years, and the city was found to be liable…and they were even thinking of destructing the hill completely? Are there any warning signs that protect city property…(use at your own risk, etc…) or can anyone sue and take more millions from the city’s wallet? Just curious…..
