Three robbery suspects reportedly jumped a victim on Dempster Street, battered him, and took his coat, wallet, and cell phone. This among stories in Friday’s daily crime report from Evanston police.
ROBBERY
600 Dempster
Three robbery suspects jumped a 31-year-old homeless man in the 600 block of Dempster Street, battered him, and took his coat, wallet, and cell phone early Friday morning, just past midnight. He was treated at Saint Francis Hospital for a swollen lip and released.

BURGLARY
300 Howard
Burglars forced their way into a restaurant in the 300 block of Howard Street by using a pry tool at about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday. Items taken, if any, were not disclosed.

600 Mulford
Burglars gained entry to an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of Mulford Street between 12:30 p.m. and 12:40 p.m. Thursday and stole some shoes.

GRAFFITI
1800 Hartrey
Graffiti was discovered spray-painted on a vehicle in the 1800 block of Hartrey Avenue at 1:21 p.m. Thursday.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
800 Hinman
Someone slashed the tires on a bicycle in the 800 block of Hinman Avenue between noon Tuesday and noon Wednesday.

THEFT
1700 Oakton
A catalytic converter was removed from a 2008 Honda in the 1700 block of Oakton Street between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

1400 Fowler
A catalytic converter was removed from a 2018 Nissan in the 1400 block of Fowler Avenue between 1:50 a.m. and 7:37 a.m. Thursday.

900 Davis
An air-conditioning unit was taken from Chicago Transit Authority property in the 900 block of Davis Street between April 30, 2021, and Thursday.

800 Dempster
A purse and its contents were stolen from a restaurant in the 800 block of Dempster Street around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

2600 Eastwood
A 2007 Honda, a 2000 Toyota, and a 2013 Chevrolet were taken from a residential driveway in the 2600 block of Eastwood Avenue between 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

100 Chicago
Miscellaneous items were reported taken from a gas station in the 100 block of Chicago Avenue around 1:45 a.m. Friday.

600 Chicago
Household items were taken from the Walgreens Pharmacy in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue around 8:45 a.m. Friday.

1900 Dempster
Miscellaneous items were stolen from the Valli Produce grocery store in the 1900 block of Dempster Street around 8:50 a.m. Thursday.

TRAFFIC
1230 Elmwood
Charles G. Dreiske, 35, of 828 Seward St., was arrested at 1230 Elmwood Ave. at 8:36 p.m. Thursday and charged with driving under the influence.

Ridge at Austin
Kaneesha LaShay Hollister, 31, of 1319 Brummel St., was arrested at Ridge Avenue and Austin Street at 4:53 a.m. Thursday and charged with driving under the influence.

Sheridan at South Boulevard
Justin P. Spence, 41, of 8618 Karlov Ave., Skokie, was arrested at Sheridan Road and South Boulevard at 9:32 p.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation.
