Man robbed on late-night walk by cemetery

A man told Evanston police he was walking in the 200 block of Sheridan Road late Tuesday night across from Calvary Cemetery when one of four men in a group passing by asked him for a cigarette.

He handed over the cigarette and started to walk away when the man hit him in the face and demanded his wallet.

The robber got that too, before walking off with his companions.

The suspects are described as four black males, one 5-foot-2-inches tall with a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. A second was described as 6-foot-1-inch tall.
