Evanston police say a man was shot in a residence in the 1000 block of Darrow Avenue early this evening.

Police say that they have a suspect in custody and have recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting.

The victim has been transported to a local hospital by Fire Department paramedics.

Cmdr. Ryan Glew says the shooting happened about 6 p.m. and that the investigation into the incident is continuing.
