A resident of the 1500 block of Florence looked out his front window during the noon hour Monday — and spotted an unknown man inside his car parked in his driveway.

The resident called police and told responding officers the man had gotten out of the car and was walking away from the area.

Evanston police say the suspect fled on foot as officers approached, but was eventually located hiding under a wood deck.

When they searched the suspect, police say, they found items stolen from the victim’s car.

The suspect, Jaquan Tyrone Malone, 18, of 1617 Simpson, is scheduled to appear in Skokie district court tomorrow on a charge of burglary to a moter vehicle.
