A man with a gun was reported near Washington Elementary School on Main Street. This among the stories in today’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.

1600 Main

Police received a man-with-gun report on the school grounds of Washington Elementary School in the 1600 block of Main Street at 7:11 p.m. Wednesday. They checked out the area but found no man with a gun.

ASSAULT

309 Sherman

Jorge C. Vega, 27, of 309 Sherman Ave., was arrested at that address at 2:38 a.m. today and charged with assault.

BURGLARY                                                                              

1400 Chicago

Miscellaneous merchandise was taken from an apartment in the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tuesday.

2600 Ridge

A laptop computer was taken from an office at Evanston Hospital, in the 2600 block of Ridge Avenue, around 6:30 p.m. yesterday.

2200 Dodge

Jewelry was taken from a home in the 2200 block of Dodge Avenue between 3:02 p.m. and 10 p.m. yesterday.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

600 Hartrey

Someone broke six windows in a building in the 600 block of Hartrey Avenue between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.

1925 Green Bay

Pierre N. Brantley, 30, of  10743 Indiana Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1925 Green Bay Road at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday and charged with criminal damage to property.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

1128 Chicago

Joshua J. Parkman, 22, of 901 Maple Ave., was arrested at 1128 Chicago Ave. at 8:56 a.m. Wednesday and charged with criminal trespass to real property.

SHOTS HEARD

Emerson at Leland

Gunshots were reported near Emerson Street and Leland Avenue at 10:34 p.m. Wednesday. Police checked the area, but found nothing.

THEFT

2400 Howard

Alcoholic products were taken from the Jewel-Osco grocery store in the 2400 block of Howard Street shortly after midnight today.

1100 Washington                                                                                       

Credit cards, cash, and a purse were stolen from a home in the 1100 block of Washington Street around noon on Aug. 2.

2500 Prairie

Miscellaneous merchandise was found missing after a known acquaintance left an apartment in the 2500 block of Prairie Street around 9:41 p.m. Wednesday.

2100 Central

Jewelry and cosmetics were stolen from a jewelry store in the 2100 block of Central Street around 2:40 p.m. yesterday.

1700 Orrington

A bicycle locked to a bike rack in the 1700 block of Orrington Avenue was stolen around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday.

TRAFFIC

101 Ridge

Bosco Niyomugabo, 25, of 6315 N. Claremont Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 101 Ridge Ave. at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation.
