Parents of Evanston Township High School students say a man with a gun was captured by police this morning after he was seen chasing another man near tennis courts at the school

One parent says the incident happened as the girls’ cross country team was coming back from its morning practice run and some of the girls were asked to give statements to the police about what they witnessed.

Update 3:42 p.m.: Evanston police spokesman Perry Polinski says the call came in as a man running with a gun eastbound from Hartrey Avenue in the 2100 block of Church Street about 9:45 a.m.

He confirmed that police do have a suspect in custody but said he was unable to provide further details.

  1. EPD win

Right…the EPD doesn't do anything besides hang out at Starbuck's and flirt with the customers.

Thanks for getting a gun off the street, especially near ETHS. Keep up the fine work!
