Community members are invited to learn about manufacturing career internship opportunities through the Opportunity Works program at an upcoming recruitment event in Evanston.

The free event, sponsored by the City of Evanston, the Cook County Board of Commissioners and the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m on Thursday, April 4, in Room G300 at the Civic Center

The Opportunity Works program places young adults in paid internships, exposes them to viable careers, expands their skill sets and connects them to the training and resources they need to achieve long-term employment in growing industries.

To be eligible for the program, participants must be:

  • Between the ages of 16 and 24 years old
  • A resident of suburban Cook County
  • Not currently working or in school

More information about the Opportunity Works program can be found at workforceboard.org/opportunityworks or by calling Eddie Perez at 224-538-1039.
