The chef from Evanston’s Chef’s Station restaurant will prepare his mushroom risotto at the Friends of the Evanston Markets tent at the downtown Farmers Market tomorrow.
Chef Elio Romero, who moved to the United States from El Salvador at the age of 12 and is now owner of Chef’s Station, will demonstrate the finer points of making a risotto, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., using mushrooms from River Valley Ranch.
The Farmers Market is a regular Saturday feature of downtown Evanston during the summer months, with free parking available in the adjacent Maple Avenue Parking Garage.
