There is no ideal growth rate for Evanston. Instead, Evanston must ensure that its growth is consistent with the values of the community.
Given our current zoning laws, the vast majority of population growth occurs in Downtown Evanston with the construction of large condominium or rental developments.
We must ensure that the desires of the community are considered before undertaking any development in the City.
That process must consider the preferable size of the development and any transportation or parking concerns.
