With the economic development and high-rise buildings that keep growing in the City, by year 2020, I can predict that the Evanston’s population will continue to grow – maybe at a growth rate of 5 percent.
Despite our slow growing in 2010, Evanston’s population still grew at a faster rate than that of its neighbors. That’s a good thing.
Nevertheless, while I like to see new professionals are moving in the City, I’m concerned about the lifelong Evanstonians leaving Evanston.
I think that the new City Council should be minded about making policies that would determine whether we want to continue with our legacy of diversity and inclusion.
We need to make policies with the potential to reduce the cost of housing, i.e. affordable housing for low-income families and seniors.
