I support steady, moderate population growth for Evanston.

The statistics reported from the 2010 census came as a surprise to many Evanstonians. While we have seen considerable growth in residences in our downtown, it is very clear that many of our neighborhoods are losing people.

And, unfortunately, many long-time residents are leaving as a result of unaffordable housing costs.

We must be diligent in our efforts to create population growth across the social and economic spectrum.
