Veteran's groups and local officials gathered at Fountain Square in downtown Evanston this morning for a Memorial Day ceremony.
The event, hosted by American Legion Post 42, honored Evanstonians who died in the nation's wars.
Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahal and County Commissioner Larry Suffredin were among the speakers who addressed the crowd.
