Men with guns reported in two locations

Men with guns were reported on Main and Dewey in two separate incidents and two vehicles were stolen from the same location on Dempster. These are among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Burglary

2600 Ridge
A window was damaged in a single family home in an attempted burglary in the 2600 block of Ridge Avenue but nothing was taken between 7:30 a.m. and 3:55 p.m. Tuesday.

2500 Ridge
A purse, jewelry, camera equipment, laptop computer and cell phone were taken through the damaged window of a single family home in the 2500 block of Ridge Avenue between 7:50 a.m. and 2:06 p.m. Tuesday.

Criminal Damage to Property

400 Main
The door of an apartment common area was damaged in the 400 block of Main Street between 7:23 and 8:12 p.m. Tuesday

400 Main
The rear window was shattered and side mirrors of a 2015 Audi were damaged in an apartment parking area in the 400 block of Main Street between 3 p.m. Sunday and 10 p.m.Tuesday.

1400 Florence
The lock and door frame of a single family home in the 1400 block of Florence Avenue were damaged between 6 p.m. Sep. 22 and 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Domestic battery

500 Elmwood
Anthony J. Spano, 36, of 550 Elmwood Ave., was arrested and charged with domestic battery at that address at 2:41 a.m. today and is due to appear in Skokie District Court at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 10.

Man with a gun

1000 Main
A man with a gun was reported in an apartment common area in the 1000 block of Main Street at 8:18 p.m. Tuesday. The area was checked and no one was found.

1500 Dewey
A man with a gun was reported in the yard of a single family home in the 1500 block of Dewey Avenue at 6:32 p.m. Tuesday but the area was checked and no one was found.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

6700 N. Bosworth, Chicago
Rakeem A’Jaha Day, 22, 6708 N. Bosworth Ave. in Chicago, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance at 6701 N. Bosworth Ave.at 6:51 p.m. Monday.

Theft

2100 Dempster
A white 2018 Ford vehicle was stolen with the keys at a retail establishment in the 2100 block of Dempster Street between 4:20 p.m. Sep. 25 and 8:58 a.m. Tuesday.

2100 Dempster
A white 2011 Ford vehicle was stolen with the keys at a retail establishment in the 2100 block of Dempster Street between 2:15 p.m. Friday and 8:58 a.m. Tuesday.

Traffic

1300 Dodge
Radiance S. Collins, 30, 1835 Hovland Court, was arrested and charged with a traffic violation at 1315 Dodge Ave. at 8:23 a.m. Tuesday and is scheduled to appear in Skokie District Court at 9 a.m. Nov. 2.

1200 Church
Cindora S. Murdock, 54, 1510 Lincoln Ave. in North Chicago, was arrested and charged with a traffic violation at 1215 Church St. at 2:01 p.m. Monday and is scheduled to appear in Skokie District Court at 9 a.m. Nov. 7.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
