A new schedule that would reduce the number of Metra trains stopping at Central Street reportedly will not go into effect Monday after all.

That’s the word from a Metra spokeswoman this evening as reported by the Chicago Tribune.

The Metra official said the rail agency has received a lot of complaints about the change from riders in Evanston.

The schedule change set for Monday had been intended as a response to complaints about an earlier schedule change implemented to deal with a reduction of the Union Pacific North line to one track for several years as 22 aging bridges in Chicago are replaced.
