Portions of Illinois south of Kankakee are expected to get hit with at least several inches of snow today, but we’ll probably see only flurries or snow showers.

But Evanston Streets and Sanitation Superintendent James Maiworm says there may be some lake effect snow overnight through Monday morning, with accumulations of less than an inch expected.

Maiworm says the overnight crew for public works is on alert for possible salting duty tonight.
