It might look like the latest Evanston public art installation, but it’s actually a shrink-wrapped monolith of discarded television sets.

And it formed just a small part of the aging electronics collected Sunday as part of Communiversity Day on the Northwestern University campus.

Despite a downpour of rain that swamped the noon-time opening of the five-hour event, the day was filled with a raft of activities including art exhibits, composting demonstrations, and displays of student automotive design projects.
