The Chicago-based Epic Burger chain is scheduled to open an Evanston location Monday in the former Lululemon Athletica space at 1622 Sherman Ave. in the Sherman Plaza complex.

It's the 8th outpost for the eight-year-old chain. The closest existing one is at Old Orchard in Skokie. That shop's earned a rating of 3.5 on a 5 point scale from 130 reviewers on Yelp.

Epic Burger CEO Scott Norris, a Northwestern University alum, says the restaurant features humanely-raised beef free from hormones or antibiotics, topped with all-natural ingredients.

Norris, in a news release, said, “The combination of a great residential community, an active downtown retail environment, a healthy office market and one of the world’s great universities makes Evanston a perfect fit for Epic Burger”.

Hours are expected to be 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., possibly later on Fridays and Saturdays. The restaurant will offer dine-in and carry-out service.
