More car burglaries on north side

EIght more car burglaries were reported on the north side of Evanston. These among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Battery

101 Ridge

Omar A. Lopez, 22, of 8545 Kimball, Skokie, was arrested at 101 Ridge Ave. at 9 a.m. yesterday and charged with simple battery. He is due in court on June 30 at 9 a.m.

1818 Main

Shaquille D. Smith, 21, of 2121 Church St., Evanston, was arrested at 1818 Main St. at 7:30 p.m. yesterday and charged with battery to a police officer. He is due in court on June 30 at 9 a.m.

Burglary

3000 Thayer

Someone entered an unlocked 2010 Toyota in the 3000 block of Thayer Street between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 3:54 a.m. yesterday.

2800 Thayer

Someone entered an unlocked 2007 Toyota in the 2800 block of Thayer Street between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 3:47 a.m. yesterday.

2600 Lawndale

Someone entered an unlocked 2003 Honda in the 2600 block of Lawndale Avenue between 7 p.m. Tuesday and 4:30 a.m. yesterday.

2600 Lawndale

Someone entered an unlocked 2005 Subaru in the 2600 block of Lawndale Avenue around 3:47 a.m. yesterday.

2600 Hartzell

Someone entered an unlocked 2010 Toyota in the 2600 block of Hartzell Street between 3 p.m. Tuesday and 4:12 a.m. yesterday.

2600 Lawndale

Someone entered an unlocked 1997 Ford Explorer in the 2600 block of Lawndale Avenue around 3:50 a.m. yesterday.

2700 Marcy

Someone entered an unlocked 2008 Toyota in the 2700 block of Marcy Avenue around 3:50 a.m. yesterday.

1900 Livingston

Someone entered an unlocked 2014 Subaru in the 1900 block of Livingston Street between 4:22 p.m. Tuesday and 9:30 a.m. yesterday.

Criminal Damage

1200 Lee

A bullet hole was found in the front window of a home in the 1200 block of Lee Street around 8:45 p.m. yesterday.

2000 Grey

Someone damaged the drivers side windows of a 1999 Ford Explorer around 7:36 p.m. yesterday in the 2000 block of Grey Avenue.

Graffiti

Darrow at Greenleaf

Graffiti was discovered on the street near Darrow Avenue and Greenleaf Street at 7:48 p.m. yesterday.

Theft

1700 Orrington

A laptop computer left unattended at the Evanston Public Library was stolen between 3:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.

1700 Maple

A bicycle locked to a bike storage rack in the 1700 block of Maple Avenue was stolen between 7:10 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. yesterday

Traffic

1400 Ridge

Christopher M. Jaszczor, 26, of 2357 W. Jarvis Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1400 Ridge Ave. at 8:57 p.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on June 27 at 10:30 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
