Another round of light snow is expected early Wednesday morning in Evanston and should last into mid-morning hours.

Assistant Public Works Director James Maiworm says the snow is anticipated to start around 4 a.m. Wednesday with a half to one inch falling before it ends around 8 or 9 a.m. Cold weather will be reinforced following the snow.

Maiworm says public works crews are on standby and expect to begin operations early in the morning. “Our first focus will be on major routes, collectors and around schools, Maiworm says. “Temperatures are expected to rise overnight which will help effectiveness of the salt that has already been spread.”
