Forecasters say Evanston could get as much as an inch of snow — especially near the lake and on the north side of town between this afternoon and early Thursday morning.

Edgar Cano of the city’s Public Works Agency says main roads have been treated with salt brine and crews are expected to be on duty overnight to monitor weather and road conditions.

It will be pretty windy, with gusts of up to 30 miles per hour from the southwest during the day, shifting to the north by evening.

Today’s high temperature is expected to be just above freezing around 1 p.m.
