Targeted adult mosquito control operations for practically all of Evanston are now scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 31, between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. Thursday.
Originally scheduled for last week, but cancelled because of adverse weather conditions, the North Shore Mosquito Abatement District (NSMAD) is going to try again this week.
The area to be treated Wednesday, weather permitting, encompasses virtually all of Evanston between Howard Street on the south and Central Street on the north, according to NSMAD.
The agency is encouraging all residents to do their part by reducing or eliminating standing water on their properties, as that is where mosquitoes love to breed.
