Motorcyclist hurt in hit-and-run accident


Evanston police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred shortly after 9 a.m. this morning at South Boulevard and Hinman Avenue that left a motorcyclist injured.

Update 10:15 a.m.: Evanston Police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan says the motorcyclist, a 42-year-old Chicago resident, was riding westbound on South Boulevard when he became involved in a traffic dispute with a driver of a greenish-blue four-door compact car, believed to be a Honda. 

The driver of the car pulled in front of the motorcycle, Dugan says, and slammed on his brakes, causing the motorcycle to strike the back of the car. The motorist then drove off.

The motorcyclist was was treated at St. Francis for a minor injury to his hand from the accident.
