Evanston Police report a man with a box cutter grabbed a woman out jogging on Sheridan Road south of Main Street Saturday morning. As she broke free, the man cut her on the throat.

Evanston Police report a man carrying a neon green box cutter attacked a woman out jogging on Sheridan Road near Main Street Saturday morning.

Police say the assailant approached the woman from behind, grabbed her and said he was going to have sex sith her.

As she broke free, the man cut her on the throat. She was treated at the scene for a two-inch cut and declined further medical attention.

Police describe the suspect, shown in a composite photo, as African-American, between 22 and 30 years old, 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 180 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a dark puffy hooded jacket and dark pants or jeans.
