Are you new to Evanston? Or are you interested in learning more about its history and challenges? The Evanston Community Foundation will offer a one-day orientation to the community on Thursday, Oct. 24.

The Snapshot Evanston program is an opportunity to learn more about Evanston community and its assets and issues. Participants to meet with local leaders, delve into current issues and tour the entire city.

The day begins with a look back at Evanston’s history with a bus tour of the city’s diverse neighborhoods, highlighting major trends of yesterday and today.

Then panels of community leaders share their expertise and knowledge about Evanston. Presenters include city government officials, school district representatives and economic development experts.

Snapshot Evanston takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave. Get more information and register online.

    Who is this designed for? Who is free on a Thursday from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm?

    Maybe next time ECF will consider doing this on a weekend. Then people who work for a living might be able to attend.
