Foundation 65 will add three new board members next month to support its effort to enrich arts and literacy experiences for students in Evanston/Skokie School District 65.
The new members are Shannon Alexander Farrar, Tammytha D. Johnson and Stephanie L. Kimmel.
Farrar, who is vice president of external affairs for the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, brings knowledge about fundraising strategy and execution. She previously was a consultant with The Alford Group in Evanston and worked with a wide range of not-for-profits including hospitals, educational institutions and social service organizations.
Johnson, a life-long Evanstonian, recently completed a term as PTA president of Bessie Rhodes Magnet School and has experience as a sales executive at companies including Kraft Foods and Baxter Healthcare is expected to help the Foundation extend its reach across the community.
Kimmel, who is director of foundation relationships at Feeding America, also has professional experience with arts organizations including the Ravinia Festival, the Goodman Theatre and the Hubbard Street Dance Company that will help support the Foundation’s arts programming.
“Foundation 65 has a very strong and committed board and we are thrilled to have Shannon, Tammy and Stephanie join their ranks,” said Lise Jinno, Foundation 65’s executive director. “F65 has great plans for doing more in support of all kids in all District 65 schools.”
Jinno says Foundation 65 strives to add value to the education experience of District 65 students through responsible grant making and by engaging the family and the community on their behalf. While it collaborates with the District to support the schools’ teachers and students, Foundation 65 is an independent operating foundation with its own volunteer board and funds.
