Evanston’s new Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center, in the former Boocoo building at 1823 Church St., opens next week.

During December, free drop-in and sampler classes will be held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

During the week of Dec. 7, there will be opportunities to create holiday cards and gifts, ornaments, twig gingerbread houses, and evergreen arrangements, as well as drop-in tile and glass painting classes. Preschoolers can play with LEGO bricks and all ages can watch the LEGO Movie.

Some sampler classes will offer a $5 discount coupon to participants to be used toward payment for the next session of classes. Complimentary beverages will be available.

Here’s the first week’s schedule.

Monday, Dec. 7
9 a.m.-Noon, Drop-in holiday card making and crafts – All ages
Noon-2 p.m., Drop-in animal visits – All ages

Tuesday, Dec. 8
9 a.m.-2 p.m., Drop-in tile painting and glass painting – Adults/Seniors

Wednesday, Dec. 9
9 a.m.-2 p.m., Drop-in pre-school activities.

Thursday, Dec. 10
9 a.m.-2 p.m., Drop-in evergreen arrangements and outdoor ornament making – All ages

Friday, Dec. 11
10 a.m.,  LEGO Movie – All ages
Noon-2 p.m., Free LEGO play – preschool/caregiver
Noon-2 p.m., Twig gingerbread houses – All ages
