A new Jamaican carry-out restaurant called Spice is being planned for the former Bosell Imports space next to Sam Johnson’s Church Street Barber Shop in the building at 1905 Church St. in Evanston.

Owner Jacqueline Hoffman, in her application for a special use permit that’s scheduled for review by the city’s Design and Project Review Committee on Wednesday, says she plans to be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Planned menu items include curry chicken, escovitch fish and cow cod soup.
