A new dine-in Japanese restaurant, Table to Stix Ramen, is planned for the storefront at 1007 Davis St.

Work has been underway on the space for a while now, but owner Kenny Chou didn’t respond to an email inquiry last week about when he’s planning to open.

The restaurant does have a Facebook page, which shows renderings for a restaurant seating about 45 customers.

Ramen is a Japanese noodle soup dish made with Chinese-style wheat noodles in a meat- or fish-based broth. It’s often flavored with soy sauce or miso and uses toppings including sliced pork, dried seaweed, kamaboko and green onions.

Evanston already has several other restaurants serving ramen, including Sea Ranch and Dozika, both on Dempster Street, Zoba Noodle Bar on Sherman Avenue and Koco Table on Clark Street.
