Massachusetts-based Franklin Street Properties announced today that it has acquired the 909 Davis St. office building in Evanston for $35.1 million.

The six-story building, the newest office building in town, was completed in 2002.

Franklin Street Properties says the structure has about 195,245 rentable square feet and is about 95 percent leased.

The selling price works about to about $180 a square foot, substantially below the $200 per square foot price that had been projected for a deal to sell the building late last year that fell through.

The acquisition brings to 35 the number of properties Franklin Street directly owns.
