Kenneth Preston Jones has been named president of Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, starting his new job May 1.
Jones has nearly 20 years of experience as a leader in hospital administration and clinical operations.
He most recently was chief executive officer at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
In a news release, Presence said that during his time in Fort Wayne, Jones improved overall employee satisfaction scores, recruited new physicians to St. Joseph, led renovations of the surgical suites and cardiac cath labs, and championed the hospital’s high reliability and safety initiatives, reducing the number of serious safety events.
Of joining St. Francis, Jones said, “I’m excited to be at the helm of this teaching hospital and meeting the needs of this community by offering families the
highest quality of specialized care in a convenient, centralized location. We will continue a tradition of ensuring our community of patients has the best experiences and compassionate care.”
Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida, and a master of healthcare administration degree from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
