The Evanston School District 65 School Board has named David Davis the next principal of Kingsley Elementary School..

“We are all looking forward to welcoming Mr. Davis back to the District 65 family,” Superintendent Paul Goren said at Monday night’s board meeting.

Davis previously worked as a third grade teacher at Oakton Elementary School in Evanston for seven years.

“I know that he will be a strong instructional leader, an advocate for equity and bringing all voices to the table, as well as a trusted partner for collaboration around student achievement, social emotional supports and school climate,” Goren added

Davis said he hopes to build “on Kingsley’s strong foundation to create a collaborative learning environment in order to meet the needs of all students.”

For the past two years Davis served has served as an assistant principal in River Forest District 90 where he developed district and school goals for improving instruction, helped support the goal of developing  a standards-based learning and grading system, supported implementation of district equity goals at the building level and led other instructional and operational projects and tasks.

Davis also held positions as an interim assistant principal and district technology facilitator in Winnetka District 36 and as a technology specialist in Westchester District 92.5.

He holds masters degrees from Concordia University and Roosevelt University.
