The LexisNexis online database service is now available free to Evanston Public Library patrons.

LexisNexis has long been a leading provider of timely and credible information in the legal and academic arenas. Now, with LexisNexis Library Express, public library users can also take advantage of this resource, which includes access to over 6,000 news, business, and legal sources.

News coverage includes older articles and current events stories in national and regional newspapers, wire services, broadcast transcripts, international news, and foreign-language sources. The Business section includes a Company Dossier module allowing researchers to retrieve detailed company information and financial performance measures, or to identify and compare companies matching specific criteria. Legal resources include law review journals, case law, federal and state statutes, patents, and more.

All of these resources are available to anyone using LexisNexis in the Evanston Public Library. In addition, all of the news and business sources can be accessed from the library website anywhere in the world with an Evanston Public Library card.

For help, try the LexisNexis tutorials on the webpage; call the Evanston Public Library Reference Desk at 847-448-8630; or text the library via IM by sending a message to 265010.

Because LexisNexis duplicates much of its content, while offering far more resources, EPL has discontinued its subscription to ReferenceUSA, effective March 1.
