Older Americans Month will be celebrated in Evanston with a half-day conference at the Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Ave., on Friday, May 5, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The free, half-day conference for older persons and those who care for them presents an array of educational workshops on topics including health and wellness, safety, nutrition, technology, legal issues, financial planning and the arts.

The conference will open with registration and a continental breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by a welcome from Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl.
