The 43rd annual Bach Week Festival continues at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, with a concert in Nichols Hall.
Piano takes center stage Sunday when Matthew Hagle performs Bach’s Preludes and Fugues in C Minor and A-flat Major from The Well-Tempered Clavier.
Hagel also gives the Bach Week premiere of turn-of-the-century Italian composer Ferruccio Busoni’s piano edition of Bach’s Chaconne in D Minor, BWV 1004.
The Sunday concert also involves Richard Webster conducting Bach’s cantata “Step upon the path of faith” with the Bach Week Festival Orchestra, soprano Chelsea Morris, and bass-baritone David Govertsen.
Finally, Bach’s “The Musical Offering,” consisting of 13 pieces including a trio sonata featuring flute, concludes the concert.
WFMT’s Grapentine will give a pre-concert talk at 6:30 p.m.
