Australian wind ensemble to perform at ETHS

A visiting group of musicians from high schools in the Sydney, Australia, area will join Evanston Township High School musicians in a joint concert in the ETHS Auditorium on Tuesday, Dec. 16.

The 7 p.m. concert is free and open to the public.

The Northern Sydney Symphonic Senior Wind Ensemble is made up of high school students chosen by audition. They are currently on tour across the United States.

The group will play a range of music including classical, popular, and film suites under the direction of Patrick Brennan, who founded the group in 2010.

Also performing will be the ETHS Wind Symphony directed by Matthew Bufis, playing music by Vincent Persichetti, Percy Grainger, and Charles Ives.
