The November “Under the Buffalo” lecture at the Evanston History Center will be delivered Thursday by the author of “Giants in the Park,” a book about the history of Chicago’s Lincoln Park.
The speaker, Krista August, leads tours of Lincoln Park’s historic monuments for the Chicago Architecture Foundation.
She will discuss the broader history of the park, including “missing” statuary and the park’s cemetery years. August has been leading walking and biking tours in Chicago for many years.
Although admission is free for Evanston History Center members, there is a $10 charge for non-members, payable at the door. Advance registrations are encouraged on the association's website.
The 7 p.m. lecture will be preceded by a reception at 6:30 p.m. at the Charles Gates Dawes House, 225 Greenwood St.
